Evergreen Hospice volunteers are individuals of all ages,
occupations and interests. Our volunteers bring diverse sets of skills to their
tasks. The majority of volunteers are involved in client care. Some volunteers
do administrative, fundraising or community awareness work. By offering their
time freely, our volunteers are a visible sign of the community's care and
commitment.

Client Care Volunteers work directly with individuals and their
families. Specialized training is provided in order to learn how to best respond
to the needs of the clients and their families and to work most effectively with
the rest of the team of caregivers that include hospice staff, community health
care professionals and hospital staff. Client Care Volunteers visit clients,
provide respite care and give support to clients and their families.
Bereavement Volunteers receive additional training in grief and
bereavement in order to support families following the death of a loved one.
Administrative Volunteers work in our office assisting the staff by
answering the telephone, greeting visitors, assembling information packages,
preparing mailings and other office work.
Fundraising Volunteers help with special events such as the Winter
Frolic, the Pro Am golf tournament, Fashion Show, Hike for Hospice and Voices for Hospice Concert.
Evergreen Hospice's Board of Directors. Behind our volunteers is group of people that many of us do not hear much about, the Board of
Directors of Evergreen Hospice (PDF format). The Board of Directors, of which there are eleven members, has
responsibility for setting the direction of the organization through policy administration, managing
finances, raising funds, conducting evaluations and strategic planning.
New volunteers are always welcome. Call the Evergreen Hospice office at
