Fashion Show - April 23rd, 2007

There may have been stormy weather outside but it was a tropical paradise inside at the Sails, Sand & Shores Spring Regatta. This was an exciting year for Evergreen's annual Fashion Show as we celebrated its 10th anniversary. Considered to be one of Markham's favourite events, for the third consecutive year our spring fashion show was a sold-out success!
Playing on the nautical theme, guests were warmly greeted with steel drum music and tropical decor. Ladies enjoyed a martini or a glass of wine while visiting the vendor marketplace brimming with specialty items ranging from home decor to women's fashions and one-of-a-kind jewellery. The bidding was heavy on the wonderful selection of Silent Auction Items which offered something of interest for everyone.
Hospice Volunteers and the Flare Group Models showcased the season's best fashions offered by these leading shops - Ballett's Bridal, Eleven Joseph Fashions, Hartman McKay Clothier, Kriss, Linea intima, Old Navy and Peppertree Klassics. Makeup was compliments of Bev Krueger of Mary Kay Cosmetics. Hair styling was compliments of Vita Bella Salon and Spa.
Congratulations to Hazel Jackson who won our Raffle prize of a Trip for Two to the Tryall Club in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The prize packaged included air fare for two, meals, and accommodations in one of the resort's deluxe 3-bedroom villas. Many thanks to Scott Smith of J.D. Smith for generously donating the villa! And a special thank you to the York Regional Police Officers who did a tremendous job selling raffle tickets!

Proceeds from the Spring Regatta and Raffle will fund Evergreen Hospice's palliative care and bereavement support for children, teens and adults who live in Markham and Whitchurch-Stouffville.
